For the last 15 years I've been using software and whiteboards to spatially arrange pieces of information in ways that best represent the relationships among them.  One of the most effective tools I've found is commonly referred to as a mindmap.

I've been using mindmapping software since 2006 and for the last several years have used it as frequently as I use a browser or any other application.  I'm a proponent of Freemind - it's free, open source, and full-featured.

I'm presently developing a software-based system for turning complex issues into good choices.  It's a mindmapping technique that enables you to collect your ideas, organize your resources, decide the best plan, and execute it smoothly.  I'll post more here as things progress...
